– Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche
We embrace and model the philosophy that the expressive and meditative arts are a means for developing holistic, positive mental wellness, stress management, coping techniques and spiritual practices. We believe that breath is the essence of life and honor the spiritual practices of all participants, moving from a universalist perspective. We believe energy is everything, within us all, connecting us all and guiding us all. We believe that through the development and expression of the arts in meditative practice we will open ourselves to a deeper personal practice of spirituality and connection with not just ourselves but our fellow man. We believe in seva, service and dedicating our services to that as well as giving back to the communities around us by using revenues to fund care kits for the homeless and to support mental health services for people without insurance or means to pay.
We are a unique organization that focuses on Expressive Arts. We explore contemplative practice, mindful and meditative art, Wabi Sabi, Meraki Art and various transpersonal and intuitive art processes from around the world. Each course begins with developing your mindfulness practice and ends with reflection and contemplative practice. Whether you need inspiration or come seeking healing, we are here to help.

I grew up surrounded by artists and learning directly from the them. As an art teacher I studied at museums and through the Kansas City Art Institute program obtaining a certificate in Fine Art, pursuing my MFA in Interdisciplinary Art at Goddard College, exploring creative and expressive arts with a certificate through Sophia University, completing my Trauma Informed Expressive Arts Therapy Certification and taking tons of art history, studio art, art therapy and expressive arts therapy workshops and courses. I found my visual art home in intuitive art working from a meditative state with stream of consciousness and connection to the universe, God, the Divine, Creator, Goddess and the Ancestors. Through studies with so many of the intuitive, spontaneous, stream of consciousness artists, mixed media, painters, exploring spontaneous and meditative drawing, I found a love for abstract work and .... play. Being an explorer on a great, vast, exciting adventure through as many materials I could find. I'm still an art supply explorer with everything from high end to found objects in the yard. Though all this my belief that expressing yourself should be accessible to all, experience or not and your art is never "wrong".
Through necessity and education I completed advanced degrees in psychology and certifications in a variety of treatment modalities. I provide strengths based, holistic, individualized psychotherapy (Colorado only), substance abuse counseling and recovery coaching (Colorado and Missouri) and Therapeutic Expressive Arts & Integrated Mental Health Coaching across the country. I have certifications and study from Regis University, Sofia University, Columbia University, Harvard, University of Colorado-Boulder, UC-San Marcos, University of Central Florida, University at Buffalo School of Social Work and University of Pennsylvania. I am dedicated to offering affordable coaching and counseling and am an active member with Open Path Psychotherapy Collective . My sliding scale rates are between 30-75 per session depending on income, length of session and number in household.
Integrated Mental Health focuses on using holistic alternative medicine treatments and practices to enhance mental health and healing. It combines lifestyle, nutrition, supplements, movement, expressive arts, Heart Variability Training, neuroscience, body based practices, Ayurveda, mindfulness and meditation, affirmation and yoga. My mission is to educate on how to help regain and enhance mental wellness through these methods and help clients heal themselves. By focusing on an individual’s unique needs in a whole body, mind, spirit practice, grounded in trauma informed practice and neuroscience I have successfully treated individuals with substance use issues, anxiety, depression and other mood disorders, unresolved and unhealed trauma, unhealed grief and ADHD.

I added Mental Health Integrated Medicine in 2018, focusing on nutrition and lifestyle changes to my practice as a method to enhance mood, control anxiety and improve general health specifically for pain management, trauma, grief and addiction recovery. I add to this continuing education at Andrew Weil’s Center for Integrative Medicine and certification as a Health and Wellness Coach as well as Vegan Nutrition Coach. I completed my training as a Grief Counseling Specialist and in Healing with Art for Palliative End of Life Care in 2019 and completed training at Columbia Universities Center for Complicated Grief in 2020. One of my passions has been helping the homeless and women who cannot afford regular mental health rate due to not having insurance. When I became a licensed counselor and therapist I decided to work with Open Path Collective with my training in Integrative Medicine for Mental Health. All of our revenues go to support the operation of this organization, training and to supply homeless care kits year round to the homeless in Kansas City. We go right to the streets and delivery our kits with mylar blankets, socks, hygiene items, gloves and hand warmers, etc. We also use some of the funds to fund free services for people who cannot pay for mental health support. In cooperation with Open Path Collective, I offer a session rate between 30-60 dollars a session for Integrated Medicine for Mental Health, sliding scale. Open Path Therapists never get a cut from the membership fee or any reimbursement. We do it because we believe in equity for everyone and accessible mental health.
I, we as an organization, believe in the Yogic concept of Seva. Service. We offer our talents and skills to those who come to be with us on an artistic journey of personal growth and healing. We hope you decide to join us an your own journey and see where the universe takes you.
