I grew up surrounded by artists and learning directly from the them. As an art teacher I studied at museums and through the Kansas City Art Institute program obtaining a certificate in Fine Art, pursuing my MFA in Interdisciplinary Art at Goddard College, exploring creative and expressive arts with a certificate through Sophia University, completing my Trauma Informed Expressive Arts Therapy Certification and taking tons of art history, studio art, art therapy and expressive arts therapy workshops and courses. I found my visual art home in intuitive art working from a meditative state with stream of consciousness and connection to the universe, God, the Divine, Creator, Goddess and the Ancestors. Through studies with so many of the intuitive, spontaneous, stream of consciousness artists, mixed media, painters, exploring spontaneous and meditative drawing, I found a love for abstract work and .... play. Being an explorer on a great, vast, exciting adventure through as many materials I could find. I'm still an art supply explorer with everything from high end to found objects in the yard. Though all this my belief that expressing yourself should be accessible to all, experience or not and your art is never "wrong".
Originally though, my first love was not visual art however, it was music. I started composing simple arpeggiated piano compositions and songwriting when I was in high school and studied at various colleges . In 1999 I sang with gospel choirs in Minneapolis led by J.D. and Frank Steele, collaborators and producers who worked with Prince. In 2006 I had a limited release of my first EP, Voices of My Ancestors, that would later become a rewritten full album in 2011--an ode of honor to my Ojibwe grandmother and the land they inhabited in Eastern KS. 2009-2012 is when my composition and music truly "took off" when I released numerous albums of space ambient, ambient love songs, dark ambient, experimental, electronica, house and EBM. I sang backup and lead vocals for different artists and bands in Denver under The SIC and Melpomene 1 as well as collaborated with artists around the world in my ambient composition with Magnetic Wind. Through Magnetic Wind I released 23 albums on various labels and they can be heard at Bandcamp, Spotify, iTunes, and all major retailers.
Through necessity and education I completed advanced degrees in psychology and certifications in a variety of treatment modalities. I provide strengths based, holistic, individualized psychotherapy (Colorado only), substance abuse counseling and recovery coaching (Colorado and Missouri) and Therapeutic Expressive Arts & Integrated Mental Health across the country. I have certifications and study from Regis University, Sofia University, Columbia University, Harvard, University of Colorado-Boulder, UC-San Marcos, University of Central Florida, University at Buffalo School of Social Work and University of Pennsylvania. I am dedicated to offering affordable coaching and counseling and am an active member with Open Path Psychotherapy Collective. My Open Path rates are between 30 and 50 dollars per session typically.
What is Integrated Medicine for Mental Health?
IMMH focuses on using holistic alternative medicine treatments and practices to enhance mental health and healing. It combines lifestyle, nutrition, supplements, movement, expressive arts, Heart Variability Training, neuroscience, body based practices, Ayurveda, mindfulness and meditation, affirmation and yoga. I also uses the DaLian Method, HeartMath (HRV) and integrates traditional practices like cognitive based therapy, solution focused therapy, motivational interviewing and DBT, which I has extensive training in as well. My mission is to educate practitioners on how to help regain and enhance mental wellness through these methods. These methods can be used in conjunction with traditional medical approaches like psychotherapy. By focusing on an individual’s unique needs in a whole body, mind, spirit practice, grounded in trauma informed practice and neuroscience she has successfully treated individuals with substance use issues, anxiety, depression and other mood disorders, unresolved and unhealed trauma, unhealed grief and ADHD.
I hold psychotherapist credentials in Colorado and addictions counseling credentials in Colorado and Missouri with pending applications in New Mexico and California and work with other mental health providers and holistic practitioners for client referral for specific concerns outside of my scope.

Contact me for more information. I am passionately dedicated to making alternative mental health support and wellness available to those who desire it and cannot afford it.
One of my passions has been helping the homeless and women who cannot afford regular mental health rate due to not having insurance. When I became a licensed counselor and therapist I decided to work with Open Path Collective with my training in Integrative Medicine for Mental Health. This is a whole person, eclectic approach using complimentary medicine methods like sound healing, expressive arts therapy, mindfulness based treatments and lifestyle changes to heal. I also use talk therapy as a component but a body based, mindful arts approach is the foundation.
All of our revenues go to support the operation of this organization, training and to supply homeless care kits year round to the homeless in Kansas City. We go right to the streets and delivery our kits with mylar blankets, socks, hygiene items, gloves and hand warmers, etc. We also use some of the funds to fund free services for people who cannot pay for mental health support. In cooperation with Open Path Collective, I offer a session rate between 30-60 dollars a session for Integrated Medicine for Mental Health, sliding scale. Open Path Therapists never get a cut from the membership fee or any reimbursement. We do it because we believe in equity for everyone and accessible mental health.
I, we as an organization, believe in the Yogic concept of Seva. Service. We offer our talents and skills to those who come to be with us on an artistic journey of personal growth and healing. We hope you decide to join us an your own journey and see where the universe takes you.
